Vintage Royal Ascot

Royal Ascot is back again... and despite the foray of controversy over the new stringent fashion rules, AVFF looks back at the incredible fashions, history & beautiful imagery from the Royal Ascots of the past.
We think the fashion police would approve these stunning vintage outfits...

"I was born in Ireland and come from a  large Irish family and it makes Mother’s day an important tradition for me.  The fact it falls on the same weekend as St. Patrick’s Day makes it even more so. My Grandmother ran a second hand/ vintage clothing business (it’s good to know that I am like her) and my Mother is one of 12 children"

Mum on her wedding day - I still have her beautiful wedding dress which she handed down to me.

Mum and some of the family and friends.

"To me being together as a family is a very important, having  3 girls & 1 boy is it always busy and never dull!  The girls will be helping at the Fair on Sunday. It is really great having them at the fair - everyone loves the fact my children are helping out and they have been doing so since they were teenagers - it gives the Fair a more personal/family touch  - it also helps that they all love vintage and want to come! I’m off to Twickenham on Saturday to see the England v Ireland Rugby game with my husband (who’s English) and we will both be hoping for a win.”

Happy St. Patrick’s Day and wishing you wonderful Mother's Day and hope to see you at our Mother's Day Special Vintage Fashion Fair at 20th Century Theatre, Notting Hill on Sunday 18th March.

London Fashion Weekend

It was great to go to London Fashion Weekend on Saturday (25th Feb) at Somerset House. Every year after London Fashion Week has been and gone and now Milan Fashion Week is in play, LFWeekend finishes the week with this extensive fashion shopping event. Here are a few snaps from our day:

Around 5 years ago Anita with AVFF introduced vintage to LFWeekend so it was great to see the vintage area expanded and curated by the talented Vintage by Hemingway design team. The Vintage Floor had a fab atmosphere with a gorgeous tea room in the centre where you could chill out and have tea and scrummy cakes by Molly Bakes.
